A talk by Professor Danielle George

Part of Building the Wireless Age, a unique Marconi exhibition

At the original Marconi Wireless and Telegraphy works in Hall Street Chelmsford,
the world's first wireless factory which Marconi established in 1898.

Danielle George, Professor of Radio Frequency Engineering at The University of Manchester, will talk about the impact of Marconi on the world of Radio Astronomy and the new age of instrumentation: The Square Kilometer Array (SKA). The potential discoveries made by the SKA will widen the scope and profound implications of Marconi’s invention.

Professor Danielle George

Professor Danielle George is Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, and a Professor in the Microwave and Communications Systems research group at the University of Manchester.

As an expert in radio frequency and microwave communications, Danielle is involved in the hugely innovative Square Kilometer Array (SKA), the world's largest and highest-resolution radio telescope.

Danielle is probably best known as the presenter of The Royal Institution 2014 Christmas Lectures. She has undertaken many other high-profile media speaking engagements including TEDGlobal 2015, and as a guest on the BBC Radio 4 programmes The Life Scientific and The Infinite Monkey Cage.
